Taylor Gordon, also known as TaytheCreator, is a multidisciplinary artist from Long Island, NY, and a recent MFA graduate from the University of Delaware. During her graduate studies, she also taught introductory painting, balancing creative practice, academic exploration, and mentorship. Her work has been featured in exhibitions and commissioned for portraits displayed in corporate and educational spaces, marking her growing presence in contemporary art.
Inspired by Black contemporary artists, Taylor’s work explores childhood nostalgia as a portal to emotional truth, memory, and identity. Through expressive color palettes and playful imagery, she uses color as a language—evoking the tenderness, joy, and complexity of growing up, especially through the lens of Black womanhood. Her paintings invite viewers to reconnect with their own pasts and personal narratives.
Taylor defines herself as a creator beyond discipline—working in oil, digital media, sound, and mixed formats. From intimate portraits to illustrated books and design work, she continuously expands her practice while staying rooted in storytelling and emotional resonance.
